‘No excuse, loss is loss’ - Phnom Penh Crown General Secretary on his side’s current poor form
Reigning champions Phnom Penh Crown have a bad start to the new Cambodian Premier League season after a 0-0 draw with Tiffy Army and an embarrassing 3-1 home defeat to Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.
Following two matches, the reigning champions sit at the bottom of the Cambodian Premier League table, and their General Secretary Ly Heang said the Phnom Penh side accepted all the blames for their poor start.
Ly Heang is, however, impressed by the amount of support his side have received from the fans.
“Result doesn’t come yet, and we don’t have any excuses. Loss is loss,” Ly Heang said on his Facebook page.
“The team needs to perform better. It’s not easy for every team to defend the championship, but we will do our best.
“We are so glad to see the supporters back to the stadium. Thanks for all their support. Without them, football is nothing as they create atmosphere to make us excited.”

Khim Borey aims big against Visakha
Khim Borey targets at least one point from Visakha in NagaWorld’s second Cambodian Premier League match of the season this Saturday.
The former Cambodia international striker didn’t have a good start to his managerial role as his NagaWorld got beaten 3-1 by Boeung Ket in their opening match last week.
He, however, looks confident to help his side get their first points of the season against Lee Tae Hoon’s side after analyzing the two-time Hun Sen Cup winners’ style of play.
Speaking to NagaWorld’s media, the 35-year-old coach said: “We are training well and will get ready to face Visakha. We already watched their previous matches, and we have figured out how they played.
“We had some problems with Covid-19 last week, but everyone has recovered and returned to the team. So far, we have only one player who is sidelined due to injury.
“Visakha have a lot of good players, but I trust my team. I believe we can do it this weekend. At least, we will get one point from this away match against Visakha.”
